{Warm and Toasty}

After a brief issue with the plumbing the wood boiler has been heating our house wonderfully!  Dan has been working tirelessly to collect, cut and split wood.  Every spare moment we was out logging and it wasn't odd to wake up on Saturday morning to the hum of a chainsaw.  Our neighbor, who owns all the land that surrounds us, has a wooded area and he gave Dan permission to get as much wood he wants from it.  The hunt was successful and really built up our wood pile but it wasn't dry wood!  The wood boiler only works to it's optimum performance if the wood is dry.  Last weekend Dan and Brian made a trek up north to buy the cut off from a mill.  They brought back 4 bundles or dry wood!  Unloaded it with Josh's bobcat and now we are set for a long time!

Dan told the kids we would build them a clubhouse and a week or so later he did!  My Mom, Tom and I helped to finish off the roof and now they just need a door!
 Now, our mudroom and most of our coats, scarves, and mittens have a permanent campfire smell.
One sled full lasts us about 3-4 days.

The boiler is set to heat the water to 180 degrees, after that it automatically shuts down and holds the wood until the temp dips down to 165.  So, it only burns when its needed, the hot water travels underground and then to the water heater.
