{Kidding Season part 3}
Wow, it was a busy evening, 3 babies made their appearance on 2-13-13!
Thankfully, Dan got home just in time to oversee Minnie with her first kidding.
Jack, the buckling, was born a few minutes before the kids and I got home.
Maryann, also a first timer, gave birth about an hour later. I had to pull out the first one and she really had no interest in her kid. We cleaned her up and as I was squatting down her water broke all over my feet. Yay, she has twins. The 2nd kid was breech and I had to pull her out as well. I feel as though Maryann and I know each other much better now!
We named her doelings, Thelma and Louise.
Thelma
After about a day Maryann's motherly instincts kicked in and she is a pretty good mom. At first she wouldn't let them nurse, pawed at them and pretty much ignored them.
Louise
Louise has a mis-shapen ear and we aren't sure if it will fix its self at all now that she's out or if it will stay folded.
Our next mama is due this coming week so the next post will probably be about goats again. That all we've got going on right now...kinda boring, I know.
Update: We have named Julia's girls Laverne and Shirley!
