{6th Annual Christmas Cookie Bake}

This year wet met at Emily's house ahead of the predicted snow, with high hopes for a bounty of deliciousness.  We are all skilled in the kitchen, we have no problems there but we also seem to plan this for a week night which limits the time we can devote to our cookies.  I wish I could string together a beautifully worded post filling you in on all the crazy, hysterical, serious, costly and ultimately wonderful memories that we made that night.
So I'll just post a few pictures...
The main cast of characters include: Me, Angie, Mary and Emily.   We all rushed there as quickly as possible so we don't look as glamorous as we would like.
I was just happy my mouth looked semi-normal, at this point it was still very numb from the dentist a hour earlier.

I don't recall exactly what Mary was saying, but I'm sure it was something about her chex mix and how it was going to be so great.  We kept waiting to see what she was going to do with it.  Oh was it going to get dipped in chocolate?, smothered in caramel? or what, what?  No she said, this is it!  Angie declares, We can buy that in a bag at the store!  Hahaha, her poor chex mix became the butt of many jokes the rest of the night.

Emily's Thumb Print cookies, with the help of extra ingredients...

I made Granny D cookies AKA ritz crackers with peanut butter dipped in chocolate.  If you know a better name please tell me so it's not such a mouth full.
As I was trying to get fancy and do a dipping action shot......
My new iPhone 5s fell into the bowl, then in my haste to get it out I dropped it on the cookies I had just dipped, good golly! Needless to say I have an appointment at the genius bar on Monday!
Still talking up her chex mix...

My Turtles in the early stages.
Mary's chocolate dipped mint oreos with chopped up
Andies on top, Mmm.

Well nobody likes a burnt bottom!  I don't remember what these were supposed to be.  After this Emily called them Christmas biscuits, then she covered them with icing and they morphed into Grinch Balls.

Angie was excited to make coconut macaroons drizzled with chocolate.  Then we burst her bubble when we reminded her that they weren't new to us, she made them last year!
We are getting old!

Our finished products include:
Rocky Road Bars, Fudge Balls, Macaroons, Chocolate Dipped Mint Oreos, Chocolate Dipped Ritz PB Cookies, Turtles, Grinch Balls, Blackberry Jam Thumb Print Cookies, Made with Love Chex Mix and the unfinished Moose Balls.

We laughed so much, even with the phone tragedy and Mary's car locking her keys inside of itself!  I love these girls more than they know.  Looking forward to next year as we decided to get back to basics and maybe allow ourselves more then a few hours to get all this done!

  1. I'm pretty sure I can lick that chocolate off your phone.
Everything looks so delicious, I'm jealous my Christmas cookies usually come from a tin bought at walmart. :(
