{riding lessons}

Cami has been making great progress during her lessons.  She's gained knowledge but most of all confidence.  She's trotting around perfecting her posture and commands but her ultimate fear is being bucked off.  She's been thrown from a horse before, she and Cub were sitting on Shadow when she spooked and took off.  They hit the ground like a ton of bricks.  Shadow is a large mare, not sure exactly what she's made of but she's tall.  Understandably, she's hasn't forgotten about that incident.
Last Friday, Josie got a little feisty either because of the dog or the whip and decided to buck and kick a bit.  It's doesn't look like much on the video because it's in slow motion (not sure why, sorry) but for her its a huge deal.  She was upset and wanted to get off but Kelly made her push through.  That's why we like Kelly, she deals with Cami just like we would.  After her lesson is over she gets to ride around on her own practicing, talking with Josie and having some free time to let it all soak in. 

She has to clean her hooves and brush her before strapping on the saddle. 

She smiled all the way home.  Then we had celebratory chocolate malts.
